The Shire of Toodyay is inviting public feedback on the proposed update to Local Planning Policy No.2 (LPP2) Ancillary Accommodation. The current (2008) Ancillary Accommodation Policy is being updated to ensure it aligns with current State planning definitions, legislative changes, and the provisions of Local Planning Scheme No. 5. This review responds to evolving community housing needs and contemporary lifestyle choices, particularly in rural areas, where the existing policy is no longer fit for purpose.

The Shire is proposing to rename Murray Walkway and the sections of Drummond Street located within Nunile. The introduction of two new road names will replace these existing names to create a consistent and continuous road network connecting the Toodyay District High School through to the Goomalling-Toodyay Road. The Shire of Toodyay proposes to make the Repeal Local Law 2025. The purpose of which is to repeal the Extractive Industries Local Law relating to extractive industries. The effect of which will repeal the Extractive Industries Local Law as published in the Government Gazette on 1 November 1999, page 1368-9 is repealed.

The Shire of Toodyay is seeking public comment on the updated Amendment 1 to Local Planning Scheme No.5. Readvertisement was expected and discussed in the September 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting. The amendment still aims to reclassify a portion of Lot 9508 (Burt Parkway, Nunile) from Public Open Space to Residential, while also formalising Jarratt Pass as a road reserve and reclassifying the adjacent Drain Reserve to Public Open Space.

Council has resolved that camping is no longer permitted at Cobbler Pool Reserve, effective immediately.
