Since 2013 the Shire of Toodyay has been working with Wikimedia Australia, the Toodyay Historical Society and Toodyay community members to dramatically increase our presence on the World Wide Web.
More than 60 new Wikipedia pages about buildings and people associated with Toodyay have been created.
Plaques with QR codes, which link to these articles, have been placed around Toodyay. Visitors are able to use their Smartphones to scan the QR codes (just like barcodes are scanned in the supermarket) and then read the Wikipedia article on their phone.
A third group of articles about West Toodyay sites are currently being developed.
