More Information
The Shire of Toodyay has now entered the PROHIBITED BURNING PERIOD. No burning is permitted at any time during this period.
Walk Distance: 5 kms
This walk incorporates DPAW’s Stewart Moir Reserve, a Shire fire break reserve and the Woodland Heights sub-division. Start the walk from the sign posted Flora Road parking bay and follow the western boundary firebreak south. Skirt around the fire access way gate to turn right and a dead straight fire break track will take you down into a valley and up the other side to reach White Gum Ridge (1.3 km).
It passes through beautiful bushland with views across the valley to the south and beyond to the forested ridges of Rugged Hills.
Return along the road via White Gum Ridge, Red Gum Circle and Jarrah Court to intersect your tracks. Time and energy permitting conduct a mini-circuit and explore the south west corner of the DPAW reserve. Follow the spectacular laterite ridge with its huge White Gum Trees and admire the views across the Toodyay Valley.
A separate information brochure on Stewart Moir reserve is available from the Visitor’s Centre.
