Infrastructure and Works Committee

The Infrastructure and Works Committee is a standing advisory committee of Council established under sections 5.8, 5.9 and 5.10 of the Local Government Act 1995.

The Committee’s role is to assist Council by providing advice and recommendations on infrastructure and works matters to support informed, strategic decision‑making and sound governance.

The Infrastructure and Works Committee is advisory only and has no delegated authority. All recommendations of the Committee are provided to Council for consideration and decision.

The Committee does not direct staff or exercise operational control, with administrative responsibility resting with the Chief Executive Officer in accordance with section 5.41 of the Local Government Act 1995.

In accordance with the 2026 amendments to section 5.23 of the Local Government Act 1995, meetings of Council committees are required to be open to the public, except where confidential matters are considered under section 5.23(2)–(4).

Given the nature of the Committee’s work, individual agenda items may be closed where they relate to matters such as commercial‑in‑confidence information, tenders, contracts, legal advice or compliance matters. All meetings will commence as open meetings, with any decision to close an item made by resolution of the Committee in accordance with legislative requirements.

Meetings of the Infrastructure and Works Committee are held in the Shire of Toodyay Council Chambers, 15 Fiennes Street, Toodyay WA 6566, in accordance with the meeting schedule.

The Infrastructure and Works Committee operates in accordance with its Terms of Reference, as adopted by Council on 2 April 2026.

• Code of Conduct for Members, Committee Members and Candidates
