Julimar Conservation Annex
Area 135 ha Perimeter Walk 5.0 kms
Although an “island” the reserve is a part of DPAW’s 28,000 ha Julimar Conservation Park. Separated by surrounding farm land this impressive bush remnant provides an important remnant of wildlife habitat. The beautiful and extremely fast Black-gloved Wallaby can sometimes be glimpsed here.
This reserve also offers a wonderful walk. Park your car at the open area opposite Conostylis Way and walk west along the boundary fire break for one kilometre. Turn left and follow the track south. There is a couple of steep climbs and you will get expansive views across the Malkup Brook catchment. Admire the “Three Sentinels”, magnificent Powder Bark Wandoos of immense size and age. Take a break on the low granite outcrops before returning to your car via the southern track and Coondle West Road.
