I have strong family connections with Toodyay having lived here all my life, my parents and grandparents were also born in Toodyay. Having raise 6 wonderful children who all attended our local school, I am a strong believer in supporting initiatives that involve attracting young families to our district. My husband and I own and run our farming enterprise and I have always given my time assisting our local school, community groups and sporting associations. I would like to see Toodyay grow to become the rural town of choice for young families to live.

Married to Mark for 35 years with two adult daughters, three Grandchildren. Originally from New Zealand. Grew up in a large family in a small country town. An Australian citizen, have lived in Australia 38 years. Twenty five of those in Toodyay. As a stay at home Mum I developed a successful home based Pottery business with state wide distribution.

Profile:

I have been a resident of Toodyay for 45 years, initially venturing as a High School maths and social science teacher. I am retired, married and with my husband, Rob have run a farming business.

I have three married children, who have settled with their families into varied rural life styles. When the children were young, I was the primary carer, but continued to study. I completed a Diploma in Multimedia, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and Certificate IV in Small Business Management, which led to employment as a TAFE lecturer in Information Technology. I have also completed a Certificate in Settlement Procedures.

In the community, I have been a volunteer with St Johns, delivering first aid training and a Girl Guide leader. I have also been a member of the Theatre Group.

I see my role as a councillor as a representative of the community, facilitating open, transparent communication between the Council and the community. It also involves supporting local business, sustainable growth, promoting a rural lifestyle and protecting our environment.
