Newcastle Park

DSCN2152.JPG

Situated on Stirling Terrace, Newcastle Park contains a unique stone monument of Charlotte Davies, the first white female to set foot on the soil of the Swan River Colony. The park offers a children's playground, gazebo and a grassed area. The footbridge across the Avon River is still the main access for the local children to their school. This is also a good viewing point for the "Avon Descent" the white water rafting event held each year.

The park also allows access to the Bilya Walk Track and the footbridge takes you to the paved walkway along the northern river bank, taking you to Drummond Sreet, then left at Telegraph Road and across the Newcastle Bridge back into the town centre.
