Community Citizen of the Year Awards

Each year, local community members and a local community group in the Shire are eligible for Community Citizen of the Year Awards across four different categories.

Recipients are selected from people and groups who have made noteworthy community contributions during the year, or who have provided outstanding service to the local community over a number of years through active involvement.

Winners are judged to have shown active citizenship via:

  • A significant contribution to the local community;
  • Demonstrated leadership on a community issue resulting in enhanced community life;
  • Leading a significant initiative which has created positive change and added value to community life; and/or
  • Inspiring qualities that make them a role model for the community.
