Community Update – Oil Spill Incident

The Shire of Toodyay wishes to advise the community that DFES is currently managing a Hazmat incident involving an oil spill affecting the area between Oddfellow Street and Racecourse Road, Toodyay.

The incident occurred late this morning, with relevant personnel remaining on site to manage and contain the affected area. The Shire is assisting DFES.

A temporary 40 km/h speed limit has been implemented within the affected area to support emergency response activities and ensure community safety.

Residents, motorists and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution when travelling through the area, follow all directions provided by Emergency Services personnel, and consider alternative routes where possible.

At this stage, details remain limited while the incident response continues. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

The Shire thanks the community for its patience and cooperation while crews work to safely resolve the situation.

A big thank you to our community for your patience, understanding, and support whilst DFES and Emergency Services worked to resolve this issue. The Shire of Toodyay is pleased to let the community know that traffic management measures between Oddfellow Street and Racecourse Road, Toodyay, have now concluded and traffic conditions have returned to normal. We truly appreciate the cooperation shown by residents, motorists, and everyone affected during this time. Thank you for supporting our emergency services and for looking out for one another throughout the incident.
