Renaming two sections of road in Drummond Street, Nunile

The Shire of Toodyay is inviting public comment on a proposal to rename two sections of road in Nunile to improve road identification and reduce confusion caused by there being two unconnected roads both named Drummond Street.

Under the proposal:

The section of Drummond Street from Toodyay District High School to Goomalling-Toodyay Road would become Murray Walkway, creating a single, continuous road name along this route.
The middle section of Drummond Street would be renamed Dorizzi Rise, recognising the Dorizzi family and their significant contribution to Toodyay's history, including the service and sacrifice of Tom, Herbert and Gordon Dorizzi during World War II.
The northern section of Drummond Street that comes off Telegraph Road to the Recreation Centre will remain unchanged.

The proposed changes will provide clearer addressing for residents, emergency services and visitors while recognising an important part of Toodyay's local history.

Consultation Period:
The public consultation period is open for 35 days and closes at 5:00 pm Friday 11 September 2026
