Public Consultation - Draft Toodyay Local Heritage Survey and Heritage List

Published on Thursday, 12 March 2026 at 11:28:17 AM

The Shire of Toodyay is seeking community feedback on the Draft Local Heritage Survey and Draft Heritage List.

The Local Heritage Survey is a document that identifies and records places within the Shire that has / may have cultural heritage significance. It provides historical information, photographs and place records which help recognise and preserve the history and character of the district.

The purpose of this consultation is to provide community members, particularly owners and occupiers of properties identified within the Local Heritage Survey or Heritage List, the opportunity to review the draft documents and provide feedback.

As part of the review process, the heritage significance ratings of some places may have been updated, and some properties may have been added to or removed from the Heritage List or Survey based on updated historical research and site assessments. Feedback from affected property owners and the broader community is therefore encouraged before the documents are finalised.

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on Thursday 5 March 2026, Council resolved to advertise the Draft Local Heritage Survey and Draft Heritage List for a period of 42 days to allow community members and property owners to review the documents and provide feedback before they are finalised.
