Please attribute the information below to Shire President Mick McKeown.
Following advice received today from Main Roads WA, the Shire of Toodyay advises that Toodyay West Bridge 4085, known locally as Slaughterhouse Bridge, will be closed to all traffic from 9.00am tomorrow, Friday 14 November 2026, until further notice.
This closure is necessary to ensure public safety and the following detour routes will be in place:
- Picnic Hill Road onto Toodyay–Bindi Bindi Road
- Toodyay West Road onto Julimar Road
Detours will be clearly signposted, and we encourage all road users to plan their journeys accordingly.
Please see map below detailing the bridge closure and detour routes.
Main Roads WA is currently preparing remedial options for the future of the bridge, which will be presented in a report to the November Council Meeting.
We appreciate our community’s patience and cooperation during this period, and we will provide updates as they come to hand.
For further information, please contact the Shire of Toodyay on 9574 9300 or records@toodyay.wa.gov.au.
