A Burning Permit is required for all burning operations from 1 October 2026
The Shire of Toodyay’s Restricted Burning Period commences on 1 October 2026 and is scheduled to remain in place until 31 October 2026 inclusive.
During this period, no burning may be undertaken without a valid Burning Permit. Permits are free and applications must be submitted online. Applicants should allow approximately four days for processing.
Permits are issued only for legitimate mitigation activities or primary producer requirements. They will not be issued for social occasions, rubbish burning, or burning that can reasonably be deferred or avoided.
Permit holders must comply with all conditions listed on their permit, including notifying DFES and neighbours, maintaining appropriate firebreaks, monitoring weather conditions and ensuring the required people, equipment and water supply are available.
Permits are not valid when the Fire Danger Rating is High or above, or on Sundays and public holidays.
