Planned Telstra Mobile Network Upgrade - Morangup

Temporary Telstra mobile service disruptions from Monday, 28 September 2026

Telstra will undertake an upgrade of the mobile base station servicing Morangup from Monday, 28 September 2026. The works are expected to take approximately eight days and are intended to improve the local 4G and 5G experience.

To safely complete the works, Telstra mobile services in the area may be temporarily unavailable for periods of up to 10 hours.

Please note that these works are being carried out by Telstra. The Shire of Toodyay is sharing this information to assist the community in preparing for the planned disruption.

The works will not affect NBN, satellite internet services, PSTN landline services or mobile coverage from other providers.

Telstra customers will receive an SMS notification about the planned works. Residents who use medical or personal safety devices that rely on the Telstra mobile network - including fall-detection systems, alarm pendants and health monitoring devices - should contact their service provider or manufacturer to discuss potential impacts and alternative connectivity options, such as Wi-Fi.

Businesses with EFTPOS terminals that rely on the Telstra mobile network are encouraged to contact their bank or EFTPOS provider to check whether their terminal can connect through NBN or Wi-Fi.

If Telstra mobile service is unavailable, compatible mobile phones will automatically attempt to connect to Triple Zero (000) through another available mobile network. If the first call does not connect within approximately five seconds, hang up and try again immediately. On subsequent attempts, remain on the line for up to 60 seconds to give the phone the best opportunity to connect.
