As part of the Shire of Toodyay’s Capital Works Program, an 850m section of Toodyay Street (Continuing on to Toodyay West Road) will be reconstructed. Works involve the installation of piped drainage, road widening and adjusting levels to prevent water ponding. The existing footpath will be extended along Toodyay Street to Reserve Road, and a walkable gravel shoulder will then be provided for the remaining distance to Harcourt Street.

Although in its infancy, the scheme is designed to increase nature based tourism in Western Australia by encouraging local governments to protect our valuable wildflowers and native vegetation along roads and in nature reserves for the enjoyment of visitors and locals.

In order to complete these works a closure of the intersection is necessary to all traffic entering or exiting Racecourse Rd. A detour will be in place to direct traffic via Sandplain Rd for the duration. The closure will be in place from Friday April 16 to Friday April 30, for affected drivers, please allow additional journey time for your trip.
