The Shire’s Parks and Gardens team have commenced significant turf improvement works across key community sporting grounds in preparation for the busy summer season.
Showground Oval and the Recreation Centre Oval are undergoing coring, verti-mowing, and top dressing, with the Showground Oval also receiving additional lawn planting in high-use areas. At the same time, Duidgee Park and Stirling Park are being cored and verti-mowed to improve turf health and playing conditions.
These works are designed to enhance the quality of all playing areas, extend turf longevity, and support the effectiveness of reticulation systems. Once complete, the improvements will provide safer, more resilient, and better-presented ovals for local sporting clubs and community users.
While maintenance is underway, some temporary access restrictions may be in place to allow equipment to operate safely and to give surfaces time to recover.
We’d like to thank our community in advance for your patience and understanding as we get the work done.
