Congratulations to Our Australia Day Citizen of the Year Award Winners and Newest Aussies!

Thank you to everyone who attended the Shire of Toodyay Australia Day BBQ Breakfast on Monday 26 January where we celebrated the pledging of our newest Australian Citizens and presented the Community Citizen of the Year Awards 2026.

The winners of the CCOTY awards were:

Active Citizenship – Group or Event: Toodyay Cricket Club

Young Community Citizen of the Year – Thomas & Nicholas Thornton

Senior Community Citizen of the Year – Barry Keens

Community Citizen of the Year – Stephen & Liz Ferguson

We were also delighted to witness the following Toodyay Shire locals make their pledge to become Aussie citizens:

MC for the event was Shire CEO Aaron Bowman, and officiating the Australian Citizenship Ceremony and CCOTY Awards were Shire President Mick McKeown and Cr Simon Van der Heyden.
