| What is changing? |
The amendment updates Local Planning Scheme No. 5 to align with changes to the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015. The amendment introduces new land use definitions and classes for Hosted Short-term Rental Accommodation, Unhosted Short-term Rental Accommodation, and Tourist and Visitor Accommodation, while removing and replacing several superseded accommodation related land uses including Bed and Breakfast, Holiday Accommodation, Holiday House, Motel, Serviced Apartment and Tourist Development. Consequential amendments are also proposed to the Scheme's zoning table, additional uses, special use zones, car parking requirements and exempt advertisements schedules. |
| Reason |
The amendment is required to ensure Local Planning Scheme No. 5 is consistent with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 and Western Australian Planning Commission Planning Bulletin 115/2024. The changes support a consistent Statewide framework for the administration of short-term rental accommodation and tourist accommodation land uses. |
