UPDATE From Butterly Cottages

It is regret that the Committee of Management accepts resignation of President Gretta Sauta due to ongoing health issues. Gretta would like to thank the CEO Stan Scott, Peter Edward and the Shire staff for their ongoing support. To the tenants of Butterly, Ashby on Avon and Rosedale, Gretta extends her sincere thanks for their support over the last 10 years. Also to the tradies and Volunteers who have always come when needed and sometimes at very short notice to help out.

There has been a new fence erected behind Units F G and H at Butterly, thanks to Jenny and Phil Perkins for coordinating this project. The new Gazebo at Rosedale has been erected with brick paving being done very soon.

A small group of Volunteers have been very busy over the last few months refurbishing a vacant unit in Harper Road ready for a new tenant, thanks to David and Judy Dow, Jenny and Tim Hale.

The unit has been repainted, had new floor coverings and major work done on the bathroom/laundry. Thanks also to Andrew Carr and Edith Costello for your help in the gardens.

The fundraising will continue this year with 3 street stall/raffle dates booked for 26 and 27 June, 7 and 8 August, 2 and 3 October. The committee will also be catering for the Lions Auction 4 April.

The next Members Information Session will be held at the Toodyay Community Centre Monday, 23 March commencing at 11.00am followed by a presentation by Safer Toodyay and a light lunch.

Butterly Cottages have also been successful in a grant application to the Bendigo Districts Community Bank for new signage at the Cottage and a pull up banner, local company Grove Wesley will be making the signs.

A call out to community members, if you have ever thought “I would like to do some voluntary work for a local community group” Butterly would like to hear from you. Email the secretary Jenny Perkins butterly2j@gmail.com. Jenny has also been working on a website which will be launched very soon.
