DO YOU OWN LIVESTOCK?

Identification of all livestock is required by law under the Biosecurity and Agriculture Management (Identification and Movement of Stock and Apiaries) Regulations 2013 [BAM (IMSA) Regulations].

All livestock owners in Western Australia must be registered with the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) and obtain a Property Identification Code (PIC). The Shire of Toodyay Rangers work closely with DPIRD.

Livestock need a form of identification, and Shire Rangers are forever returning wandering livestock to properties in order to avoid the possibility of serious injury to public road users. Remember, you must effectively contain your livestock.

It’s just like when good pet owners microchip and register their dogs and cats, owners are easy to find, and their animals can be returned quickly. For further assistance regarding this process feel free to contact the Toodyay Rangers on 9574 9370.
