Newcastle Park Footbridge Closed Until Further Notice

Please be advised the Newcastle Park Footbridge has been closed due to significant damage caused by vandalism. Several sections of the bridge have been affected, making it unsafe for public use.

  • This matter has been reported to Police.
  • The Shire is currently undertaking mitigation work, including ordering and replacement of all damaged and aging boards.
  • A permanent fence will be erected shortly for added safety while repairs are in progress.
We will provide updates as they come to hand. In the meantime, we ask that members of the public to please avoid the area while work is under way.
