all hands on deck and resources are stretched.

The Shire has experienced what is considered to be a ‘major storm event’ over the past couple of days.  It has been widespread throughout the whole District and some of the Shire’s roads and assets are struggling to cope with the deluge of water in such a short amount of time.  All members of the Shire maintenance crews are out and about managing the 600km of roads within the Shire.  With all hands on deck, resources are stretched and everyone is working hard to return our roads and infrastructure to normal as quickly as possible.

Primary roads, dangers to human life, and trapped properties will be the priority.  Residents should expect to encounter debris on the roads and floodwaters for at least the next week.

So, we ask that the community is patient, remains vigilant, alert and stays safe.
