There’s more than just the adrenaline of the Avon Descent to look forward to in Toodyay on August 12, with the river race’s 50th anniversary celebrations set to be absolutely action-packed!
Enjoy the race from dry land at Duidgee Park and Stirling Park – not only home to numerous top-notch spectator spots, but also the host locations for Toodyay International Food Festival and Freestyle Now Skatepark Competition from 10.00am-4.00pm on the day.
Toodyay International Food Festival
Tantalise your tastebuds as you take in the atmosphere of the Avon Descent – after all, watching all that whitewater activity is bound to have you working up an appetite. This year’s Food Festival will feature over 30 food vans and stalls catering to every craving, plus live music across several stages, children’s activities and entertainment, and much more. You’ll have to come along to see just how fabulous – and delicious – the 2023 festival will be.

Freestyle Now Skatepark Competition
Bringing together the vibrant skateboarding, scooting, BMX, rollerskating and rollerblading communities in Toodyay and beyond, this all-ages competition could be for you, whether you’re experienced on wheels or just finding your balance. Participants have the chance to share in over $3,000 worth of prizes, while those on the sidelines are sure to amazed by the showdown of moves and tricks.
