Toodyay and the Avon Valley are perfect for day trips and longer road trips. Toodyay is included on a number of self drive trails ranging from a day trip to up to a week. A brochure with all the drive trails can be found here.

Toodyay is part of the Avon Valley Loop. The loop runs from York to New Norcia and incorporates lots of history, activities and scenery. The trail is part of Tourism WA's Road Trip brochure and can be found on page 6.

Follow in the footsteps of famous botanists James Drummond and Charles Gardener. This journey will take you through the back roads of Toodyay to New Norcia, a route that was pioneered by James Drummond and retraced by Charles Gardener.

Pioneer's Pathway

Follow the well worn route from Toodyay to Merredin that prospectors once took on their way to the goldfields. Enjoy the scenery and history of Toodyay, Goomalling, Dowerin, Wyalkatchem, Trayning , Nungarin and Merredin. Each town has a unique story about a colourful characted from the past, including Moondyne Joe, Rusty the Tin Dog and Alice Cummins. Brochures can be found at each town's visitor centres.
