Toodyay is situated inland in the picturesque Avon Valley region, only 80km North/East of Perth. A population of 4,439 stretched over 1,683 kilometres means there is plenty of space to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Stay a while in one of the bed & breakfasts, caravan parks, self-contained accommodation or hotels. Explore the town by visiting the boutique shops and cafes. There is plenty to do, including archery, walk trails, kangaroos, emus, and the Toodyay Miniature Rail.

Experience the unique environment that Toodyay has to offer with the Avon River, Bilya Walk Track, Duidgee Park, Pelham Reserve, and a number of conservation and nature reserves. During wildflower season the reserves come alive with colour, making Toodyay one of the must see areas of the Avon Valley wildflower region (Aug-Nov).

The town's architecture reflects it's colonial and convict past, with one of the most impressive streetscapes in the area. Discover where the legend of Moondyne Joe began, and other convict stories at the Newcastle Gaol Museum. Take a step back in time at Connor’s Mill Museum and see how the building has housed many families and had many uses.

Toodyay has a many regular events throughout the year. Experience days gone past at the Moondyne Festival, enjoy all things wool and yarn at the Fibre Festival. Tempt your taste buds at the Toodyay International Food Festival and Family Fun Day while watching the Avon Descent. The monthly Farmers Markets round out a calendar of events to entice visitors all year round.

The Toodyay Visitor Information Centre is located behind Connor's Mill on Piesse Street. Learning about Toodyay is easy at the Visitors Centre as we stock a huge range of brochures covering not only Toodyay – but the Avon Valley, Wheatbelt, Coral Coast, Kimberleys and the Great Southern of WA. Our local staff have many years of experience in Toodyay and we are always passionate about passing on our knowledge. The Centre works towards providing local products as well as maps, Toodyay souvenirs, information on local flora and fauna, picture books, history books, guides and information brochures.
