The Shire wishes to advise residents and road users that a 600-metre section of Julimar Road will be closed between both Timberden Drive intersections (see map below) as follows:
- Monday October 23 to Friday October 27 – CLOSED, detour in place (until 5.00pm Friday)
- Saturday October 28/Sunday October 29 – OPEN
- Monday October 30 to Friday November 3 – CLOSED, detour in place (until 5.00pm Friday)
For road users traveling on Julimar Road, the detour will take you onto Timberden Drive, which loops around the road works, before exiting back onto Julimar Road. Traffic management will be in place on site – please observe all management measures and detour directions in the area, and drive to conditions.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the large kangaroo population on Timberden Drive, we will have several additional risk-reducing measures in place on the detour:
- A reduced speed limit
- High-visibility lighting towers at both Julimar/Timberden intersections
- Wildlife warnings displayed on our variable roadside message boards
Please take extra precautions when traveling in areas with widespread wildlife.
Current construction works on Julimar Road require this section of road to be closed to ensure efficient and safe completion. These works form part of our capital works program.
