Local Government 150th Anniversary Project

Toodyay Local Government Portrait Gallery

To mark the 150th anniversary of local government in Western Australia the Shire is pleased to be working with the Toodyay Historical Society to create a Toodyay Local Government Virtual Portrait Gallery of people whose names are recorded on the three honour boards hanging in the Shire Chambers.

 

So far more than 200 individual pages have been created about people who served our community on the Toodyay Road Board, the Newcastle Municipal Council and the Toodyay Shire Council.  A hard copy of these pages was produced for a progress report to Council in October and can be viewed upon request at the Shire Administrative Offices in Fiennes Street, Toodyay.

 

The virtual gallery is yet to be published online as we are still researching histories and gathering images.  We are now putting out a call far and wide on this page and also through the Toodyay Museums Facebook Group page for photographs to complete our gallery.

We will update our list of names for whom we have no matching photo regularly as the project continues.   In the meantime, see below for the list of people for whom we are currently seeking photographs.
