Fire Weather Warning - Wheatbelt Region

Published on Tuesday, 29 November 2022 at 11:00:00 AM

The Shire and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services WA wish to advise residents that elevated fire weather is expected to affect the Wheatbelt – including Toodyay – throughout this week.

Wednesday (November 30) is expected to be the peak fire danger day due to a combination of high temperatures, strong winds, and thunderstorm activity that includes dry lightning.

From Thursday (December 1), hot weather and winds will continue to maintain an elevated fire danger rating.

For general safety and preparedness during this time, DFES has taken a number of precautionary measures across the region: placing machinery on standby, forward-basing aerial suppression aircrafts, and establishing a multi-agency incident management team ready for immediate deployment if necessary.

Please do your part by complying with all stipulated fire safety regulations.
