COVID-19 Isolation Requirements to Cease From October 14

Mandatory isolation requirements for COVID-19 will cease across Australia from Friday October 14, after an agreement was reached by Ministers at a National Cabinet meeting on September 30.

Anybody who tests positive for COVID-19 from this date will no longer be legally required to self-isolate, instead being encouraged to do so via public health messaging if feeling unwell. This applies to employees in all industries, though restrictions are anticipated to remain in place for high-risk settings such as aged care, health care and correctional facilities.

The WA Government will release specific information for West Australians concerning these isolation changes in the coming days. Current State Government information can be found here, and the Prime Minister's media release can be viewed here.
