Cr Paula Greenway tendered her resignation to the CEO recently and will be stepping down as a Councillor as of 30 April 2021. Cr Greenway has dedicated the past 7 years to the Shire of Toodyay as a Councillor and feels that it is now time for her focus to be redirected to her business and family.

Her time on Council was colourful and never dull, “there is always something to read and research and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time serving the community in this way”. There were always causes and community projects to be involved with and Cr Greenway commented that the community effort to save the AvonLink was a challenge of which she is particularly proud to have been a part, and it displayed the strength in unity of what a community can achieve when campaigning for a common goal. The installation of the Information Bay and Entry Statement were also standout achievements. Cr Greenway’s significant participation in Toodyay’s development as a niche tourist destination will not easily or quickly be forgotten.

Let us also not forget Cr Greenway’s ongoing dedication in establishing 105.3FM - Toodyay’s own radio station which recently began live streaming.

Cr Greenway spoke fondly of the team effort that is required to manage a community such as Toodyay and its expectations. She particularly wanted to acknowledge the amazing staff and Councillors that were the team she was a part of during her time on Council and thank them for their efforts, dedication and the support given to her over the years.

Upon her resignation, Cr Greenway's emphasis and commitment to working as a team for the best interests of the community was demonstrated with an unblemished history of complaints or misconduct.

The Shire would like to take this opportunity to thank Cr Greenway for her years of service to the community of Toodyay, and wish her all the very best for the challenges she chooses to tackle in the future. Thank you Paula.
