Position

MANAGER, WORKS AND SERVICES

(Total package up to $121,300)

 

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in the role of Manager, Works and Services at Toodyay, located approximately 85 kilometres east of Perth in the picturesque Avon Valley.

This position provides an opportunity for an experienced person to manage the Shire’s roads, parks and gardens, infrastructure and other specific projects as directed by the Chief Executive Officer.

Major responsibilities of this role are to plan, coordinate and manage infrastructure project works carried out by Contractors and employees, as well as developing achievable works programs, managing and administering contracts for the performance of construction and maintenance of works and services and ensuring effective and efficient deployment of Shire resources. Qualifications in Civil Engineering  are highly desirable.

The successful applicant will enjoy the benefits of working as part of a high performing, supportive team and receive the resultant rewards. Salary will be negotiated dependent on qualifications and experience, with a cash component up to $95,000 with all other conditions as per the Local Government Industry Award 2010. A vehicle is included as part of the package.

Volunteer Positions - Library Volunteers

The Shire of Toodyay Library is currently calling for people interested in becoming Library Volunteers.

Volunteers are needed to assist Library officers with unpacking, sorting, stacking and shelving of books and library materials.

All volunteers will be required to provide a current Police Security Clearance Certificate in accordance with the Shire of Toodyay Council's policy A.6 (the cost of which will be covered by the Shire)

Volunteer Positions - Old Gaol Museum


Numerous volunteer positions are available within the Museum and Heritage Department at the Shire of Toodyay.  If you are interested in being involved in your local community then here is the opportunity for you. Appropriate training will be provided for all successful applicants.

Front of House

Availability: 1-2 days per fortnight (minimum), between 10.00am and 3.00pm weekdays or 10.00am and 4.00pm weekends.
Duration: Minimum 12 months with definite opportunities for extension.
Job Description: The position requires the applicant to open the Old Gaol Museum for business.  Duties include the unlocking and locking of cells; taking money for admissions and souvenir sales; welcoming and orientating visitors; answering visitor questions; light cleaning duties. The position may include some object handling.

All volunteers will be required to provide a current Policy Security Clearance Certificate in accordance with the Council Policy A.6 (the cost of this will be covered by the Shire of Toodyay.)
