Waste Transfer Station
Council operates a waste transfer station on Railway Road, Toodyay. The station is open 7 days a week between 8.00am and 12 midday (excluding Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day). The Transfer station is also open on the last Sunday of every month from 8.00am to 3.00pm.
To operate the waste transfer station Council currently charges an annual levy to every property in the Shire. This levy appears on property rate notices and is not connected to the Council contracted door-to-door mobile garbage bin service.
Mobile Garbage Bin Service
If you require a door-to-door rubbish service, you will need to complete a Mobile Garbage Bin Serve Application Form. Council’s contractor will provide you with a 240-litre mobile garbage bin and the cost of the service will be billed with your rates. Charges for the bin service are reviewed annually as they are based on fees set by the Town of Northam, which is the disposal site utilised by this Shire of Toodyay.
Green Waste
Green waste can be taken to the waste transfer station for chipping disposal.
Recycling
All recycling facilities are available at the waste transfer station. Please sort all recyclables at home and drop them off at the station as directed by the contractor.
Stall Holders
The Shire of Toodyay Local Law requires an individual or group wishing to trade in a thoroughfare/public place to obtain a valid Stall Holder Permit. There are strict guidelines and requirements in place for the operation of food stalls. Please refer to the Forms & Publications section for more details.
