The Shire of Toodyay reminds everyone that, in case of an emergency requiring the attendance of the police, fire brigade or ambulance RING 000. This will ensure that assistance will be provided as quickly as possible.

Medical Services

The Alma Beard Medical Centre offers a range of services by medical professionals including general practitioners, physiotherapist, optometrist, podiatrist, Cancer Council and other visiting specialists. Please contact the Medical Centre on 9574 2223.

The nearest hospital is in Northam – phone 9690 1300.

Fire Services

There are a number of Volunteer Bush Fire Brigades that operate in the Shire of Toodyay. Please see the Community Groups section of our website for further information.

Fire Control Officers are appointed by Council and can be contacted regarding the start and finish dates of Restricted/Prohibited Burning Periods. Burning permits for hazard reduction are required during the fire danger period (1 October to 30 April) and permits can be obtained by contacting a Fire Control Officer. Ranger Services

Shire of Toodyay Ranger Services are on call, seven days a week and can be contacted on 9574 4555. In case of an urgent matter occurring after hours, your call will be diverted to the Ranger on Roster.

Police

Mission
In partnership with the community, create a safer and more secure Western Australia by providing quality police services.

Our Core Functions
Prevention and control of crime, maintenance of the peace, traffic management and road safety, emergency management co-ordination, and assisting members of the community in time of emergency and need.

Station Staff
Staff comprise of a Sergeant in Charge, four Constables and one Customer Service Officer.

General Office Hours
Police Officers are on duty most days and afternoons of the week, however general office functions and enquiries are in the following times, Monday to Thursday 9.00 am to 2.00 pm. It is important that our current patrol and investigation times be maintained so we ask you to use the above office hours as much as possible.

National Police Clearance
Police Clearance certificates are available at the Police Station for a fee of $43.00 (cash only).

Occasional Liquor Licence
Any application for an Occasional Liquor Licence can be made at the Northam Court House. These licences authorise the sale and supply of alcohol at a function or social occasion.

When telephoning the Toodyay Police you should always ring the station number and allow the phone to be diverted. We work 7 days a week and always have an Officer on call. If the phone diverts to Northam leave a message and we will ring you when we return to the office. In any emergency situation you should dial 000.

Licensing
The Toodyay police conduct limited licensing functions on behalf of the Department of Planning and Infrastructure (Transport) on Wednesday mornings. We conduct practical tests for the following classes :
C Manual Car
C-A Automatic Car
R-N Moped
R-E Motorcycle to 250cc
R Any Motorcycle (must have held an R-E Licence for 1 yr)
Age retest

Practical driving tests for truck licences are no longer conducted at Toodyay. The Shire of Toodyay now handles all other functions.

Firearm Licensing
Payments for these may be made at the Shire of Toodyay. All inquiries relating to the ownership or licensing of any firearm may be made at the Police Station.

Ministry Of Justice
All Court of Petty Sessions fines and fine enforcement payments may be made at the Toodyay Police Station (cash only). Any local Court matters (debt recovery through courts) are dealt with at the Northam Court.

Traffic Infringements
All Traffic Infringement Notices may be paid at the Toodyay Post Office.
