Toodyay has a range of facilities and services that are targeted to children and young people.
BMX & Skate Park
Locate on Charcoal Lane in the heart of Toodyay is a Skate Park that caters for a range of skills and abilities. This is a popular meeting point for young people in the townsite.
The Morangup Community Centre is currently developing a BMX track to meet the needs of the young people in the community.
Parks & Playgrounds
Duidgee Park, located next to Newcastle Bridge on the Avon River, is one of the most popular parks in Western Australia. With barbeque facilities (free, electic), toilets, playground equipment for a range of ages, shady trees and the magnificent Avon River flowing beside it, this is the ideal spot for both small and large gatherings. The Toodyay Miniature Railway operates here on weekends (contact the Toodyay Visitor Centre for opening times).
Newcastle Park, located on Stirling Terrace, has playground equipment and grassed areas for young families. Located next to the Avon River and the River Footbridge, it also has a large shelter that makes it an ideal location for a relaxed gathering with family and friends.
Adjacent to the Morangup Community Centre is a playground suitable for pre primary and primary aged children. The facility, developed in partnership by the Morangup Playgroup, Shire of Toodyay and Lotterywest is open to the public.
Sports & Activities
There are a range of activities and sporting organisations that cater specifically for children and young people, including Kindy Gym, Scouts, netball, football, cricket, hockey, ballet, karate and drama. Please see the Community & Sporting Group section of our website for further details.
