The Shire Logo
The Shire of Toodyay logo reflects this vibrant and colourful community. The name Toodyay is believed to be derived from the aboriginal word "duidgee", meaning "place of plenty".
The symbol draws on the key elements of the district's rich past and unique contemporary lifestyle:
- the windmill reflects the colonial heritage of the town and pays tribute to the agricultural industry that is the traditional mainstay of the local economy.
- the sun on the horizon and curved lines of the river and rolling hills symbolise the picturesque landscape
- the overall illustrative style and fresh colours are inspired by the thriving arts and culture that contribute to the area's social capital and growing tourism industry.
The Shire of Toodyay's logo was adopted at the January 2007 Ordinary Meeting of Council.
